About Studious

Why Studious? Because I love to pass on all kinds of geeky goodness about content marketing, design, and branding for intelligence-based businesses.

I am a writer, entrepreneur, flex-worker evangelist, lover of design, and business practices geek. These days I spend my time running a Boston-based marketing firm called SoloPortfolio. We help professional service firms engage their customers with killer content. I’m also the editor of Chief Content Officer, a quarterly print magazine from The Content Marketing Institute

While I’ve worked in B2B marketing roles for over 15 years, there was a three year period when I worked as an accountant. No, seriously. I was responsible for things like audits, P&Ls, and bank covenants. Most of my clients are in financial services–from accounting to private equity and investment banking–so knowing the secret language works out pretty well.

I have an MBA from the F.W. Olin School of Business at Babson College with a dual concentration in finance and marketing, and an masters in American Literature from Washington University, where I was once crazy-obsessed with Melville.

You can find me blogging here, and at the Content Marketing Institute.
